Практики «звукового насилия» в Средние века и раннее новое время

Аннотация

Цель исследования – выявить сущностные параметры насильственных практик прошлого, составным компонентом которых выступали музыка и звук, обозначить роль культурного и социального контекста, а также акустического ландшафта в логике построения и развертывания этих церемоний. В фокусе внимания статьи: многообразные ритуалы «грубой музыки», шаривари, или скимингтон райд; использование орудий для наказания в форме скрипок и флейт в Средневековье – «флейты и скрипки позора»; акустический ландшафт, сопровождавший публичные казни в XV-XVII веках: звуковые сигналы, возвещавшие о предстоящем событии, реакция осужденных на происходящее – пение псалмов у эшафота или полная тишина. Исследуются тесные связи между феноменами силы и насилия, звуком и музыкой, акустической средой и тем значением, которое она несла для участников этих насильственных практик. Обращается внимание на особую роль акустического ландшафта в доиндустриальном мире, описываются процессы политизации вопросов звукового регулирования, управления шумом. В результате проведенного исследования были вычленены отличительные параметры исторических практик, ставших предтечей современных «пыток без прикосновения», обоснованы идеи комплексного взаимодействия между феноменами силы, наказания и звука. Продемонстрировано стремление различных акторов, задействованных в карательных ритуалах, претендовать на контроль над окружавшей их средой, используя звуковое сопровождение как средство и как стратегию.
